Take one end of the waist bead strand in each hand. Depending on which strand you purchased pre-made by me will have white anchor beads on the ends or (African waist beads = no anchor beads but a slipknot with string that must be pulled) Do not cut these bead until your waist beads have been tied and secured!
Wrap the strand around the back of your body like a belt
Pull on both anchor beads until they open the slipknot and release the beads. The beads will not fall off! This just makes room for you to move and adjust the beads as you see fit. (THIS STEP DOES NOT APPLY AFRICAN WAIST BEADS, JUST PULL THE STRING TO RELEASE BEADS)
Place the waist beads at your desired location
Make sure the beads are pushed back from the anchor bead so that the strand has no gaps
Cross the strand to close waist beads around your desired location
Pull the top strand under and through in order to tie your first knot (remaining beads should fall toward the anchor beads)
Tie 4-5 knots in order to secure your waist beads
Cut the anchor beads and let the remaining beads fall into a container or bag.
